Rev. Art Allen, guest preacher at the United Methodist Church, Stuart, Iowa preaches on John 4 and its story about Jesus and the Samaritan woman who meet at Jacob's Well. March 15, 2019 was the last Sunday of gathered worship at the church as safety measurers were put in place in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2006 the United Methodist Church celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the decision to ordain women. The Iowa Conference invited the late Rev. Dr. Nancy Allen to offer the sermon at its annual gathering that year. Ordained a Deacon in 1973, she and Rev. Jo Hoover were the first women to serve as District Superintendents in Iowa.
