I’m Art Allen.
I’m a song writer and storyteller. I love using tools, including shop tools, computers and cameras, to create things that bring joy - whether with wood, music, media, print, or life here in the cloud.
I'm a little Iowa corny, too. Yep. I often say, "Everything I do is a work of Art."
I’ve been a local pastor of congregations from 30 to 1,000, a campus minister, a camping professional, a web master, an editor and publisher, and a quality management instructor and advisor. When I was a kid I was shy, bashful, almost invisible... and now... God help us all.
I wrote my first song in 1972. Since then I've written over 70 and produced several albums and songbooks. Some of what I've written has been sung enthusiastically by thousands, some are solos for times of personal meditation, others were written for a single use celebration - "disposable songs" one of my musician friends once called them.
On occasion in retirement I fill in for active preachers, and spend a fair amount of time designing things on my computer and building things in my workshop.
Life just goes from one adventure to another.
